What we collect
Only what we need to quote and build a pool:
- What you send us: Your name, email, phone number, project type, and anything you write in the contact form or send by email.
- Photos of your pool: If you’re asking about a renovation or refinishing job, you can attach a photo of the existing pool. It will probably show part of your yard and home, and we treat it that way.
- Traffic numbers: Google Analytics records which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country and region), what kind of device they use, and which site sent them here.
- Bot protection data: Google reCAPTCHA collects device and interaction signals to tell real enquiries from spam.
- Server logs: Standard connection records, including IP addresses. We keep these for security and troubleshooting.
Why we collect it
Each piece has one job:
- Contact details let us call you back, talk through the project, book a site visit, and send a quote. Nothing else.
- Photos help us judge an existing pool’s condition before anyone drives out.
- Traffic stats show us which pages people actually use, which projects they look at, and what on the site needs work.
- reCAPTCHA stops automated scripts from flooding the form.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses two standard tools that set cookies:
- Google Analytics measures overall traffic, such as how people move through the site and which pages they spend time on. It shows us patterns, not who you are. You can opt out at any time with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Google reCAPTCHA sets cookies when it checks that a form submission comes from a person. Google handles that data under its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Essential cookies keep the site running securely.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, but the contact form may ask you to prove you’re human more often.
Who we share it with
Only the services the business runs on:
- Google, for site analytics and reCAPTCHA spam filtering.
- Our hosting and email providers, to serve the site and deliver your enquiry to us.
We don’t sell, rent or trade your information to anyone. If a court order or the law ever requires us to hand something over, we’ll tell you unless we’re legally barred from doing so.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it, and then delete it:
- Enquiries go straight to our inbox and aren’t stored on the website. We keep them while we’re talking about your project, and for a while after in case you come back to it.
- Uploaded photos are attached to our email and then removed from the web server.
- Client records (contracts, drawings, invoices and project photos) are kept as long as tax rules and any warranty on the work require.
- Analytics data is kept by Google under its own retention settings and deleted automatically.
- Server logs are cleared automatically on a rolling basis.
If you’d like something deleted sooner, just ask.
Your rights
We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s federal privacy law (PIPEDA). That means you can:
- Ask what information we hold about you.
- Ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
Email EMAIL ADDRESS. If you don’t think we’ve dealt with it fairly, you can write to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC BC).
Security and younger visitors
The site runs over HTTPS, is protected by security monitoring, and we keep its software patched and up to date. Nothing on the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable care with what you’ve trusted us with.
This site is for homeowners and the people who build for them. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 19.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects information you’ve already given us, we’ll email you directly rather than quietly editing the page.
